Quick Facts:
Serauxmen Stadium was developed between 1974 and 1976 to host the Nanaimo Minor Baseball Association, which found itself in need of a new ball field. Arrangements were made to redevelop a former mine site near the high school and across from Third Street Park and the city Ice Centre. A local service club, the Serauxmen, stepped up and raised funds for the facility construction. (The club, which was founded in 1967, proudly states that it is not part of any other national or international organization, but raises funds for use in projects specific to Nanaimo.)

The park, which faces in the traditional northeast direction, is hemmed in by other facilities like football and soccer fields. As a result, right field is exceptionally short (less than 300 feet) and a high wall has been erected to keep some balls in the field of play if they are hit in that direction.
