Late-afternoon college summer league action.

Quick Facts:
Norbrock Stadium was built in 1967 as part of an initiative to develop sport facilities throughout Canada as part of the nation’s centennial. Since then, it has hosted numerous tournaments, including the baseball phase of the 1993 Canada Games. An expansion of the college summer West Coast League brought a new team to Kamloops for the 2022 season, delayed one year after border crossing restrictions put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic halted play in 2021.

The stadium itself has a main seating bowl that can hold 1,500 spectators, plus bleacher seating down each foul line that doubles the capacity. Concessions and souvenirs are available at stands flanking the main grandstand, and there is also a beer garden down the first-base line.

All of McArthur Island, located in the Thompson River, is a recreation park. The city’s exhibition arena, which hosts junior hockey, is also located on the island, several hundred metres from the baseball diamond.
