Springs’ 1976 All-Star hurler, John Papenberg, held hard-hitting Rotary to three hits in a 4-inning game halted by rain. Led by the hitting of Bobby Rose, J.R. Ferretti and Papenberg, Springs jumped to an early 3-run lead and coasted to victory. Tim O’Brien and Pat Strehl got Rotary’s hits and John Lyle contributed a fine relief effort.
