J.R. Ferretti and John Papenberg combined to pitch a no-hitter as Springs took its opener, 1-0, from last year’s National League runner-up, Critchley Candy.
The winning run scored in the bottom of the sixth as Ferretti singled, stole second and came home on a fielder’s choice by Bobby Rose.
Pete Kelly limited Springs to five hits in a fine effort.
