Sifford’s Esso in Little League got its first shutout of the year beating Gaffney Eletric 3-0.
Paul Zetelski and Mark Giordano battled pitch for pitch until Sifford’s busted loose in the 4th to score 2 runs. Zetelski gave up only 1 hit to Gaffney while striking out 8.
Zetelski’s second triple of the game came in the 6th and he later scored on a passed ball to add an insurance run and make his job easier in the bottom half of the inning.
Sifford’s played a strong defensive game in the field as Gaffney’s boys hit the ball but Sifford’s defense was tough.
Sifford’s record is now 7 and 1 and they are slowly pulling away from the rest of the league.
