Sifford’s Esso managed to outscore Rotary in a close ballgame. Neither team managed much hitting with Sifford’s garnering but two hits off Bill Walsh.
Sifford’s scored one run in the first on a lead-off walk to Jeff Bigley and moved up on 3 passed balls. Peter Cohen got a timely hit in the 4th to drive in Eric Korsh and Greg McMaster who were hit by pitches.
Ron Wilke ran into trouble in the 3rd when Rotary scored 2 runs on walks to Flynn and Davis and a solid double by Hickey brought 2 runs home for Rotary.
Korsh’s fine fielding kept the game close until the 5th when Paul Zetelski reached first on a fielders choice and scored on Wilke’s smash through the box.
Resch relieved for Rotary in the 4th and did a fine job.
