Tuesday of last week the Boiling Springs and JCC teams of the Rutherford Little League battled on even terms up to the final out, with Boiling Springs edging out JCC in an 8-7 victory.
Mike Monroe pitched for the Springers and gave up only four hits. George Roseman did the catching. Dave Van Buskirk hurled for JCC with Howie Russell catching. Dave allowed five hits. Boiling Springs scored three in the first and three in the third. JCC scored two in the top of the first, one in the third, one in the fourth, and tied the score at 6-all with two in the fifth.
Boiling Springs went ahead with one in the fifth. JCC tied it up again with a run in the sixth and Springers got a run over in the final half to win.
