Flash Cleaners came up with a run in the top of the ninth inning to defeat the Lions Club on Sunday in an extra-inning affair 5-4. The Lions leaped off to a three-run lead in the bottom of the first inning. Flash Cleaners got one in the third, and Lions matched that in the bottom of the third. In the fourth Flash Cleaners scored three times to tie it up. After that it was a pitchers’ battle to the finish.
John Resch and Joe Weist did the pitching for Flash, with Fred Nicol catching. Bob Triguero and Bob Johnson hurled for the Lions, with Jeff Reulbach catching.
