Jim Dull, pitcher and catcher for the American Legion team in the American division of the Rutherford Little League, set a new record in home runs for Little League play by getting his eighth circuit clout Saturday in a game against the Lions.

A big fourth inning in which they scored all of their runs gave the Lions a 6-5 edge over American Legion.

Bob Triguero pitched for the Lions, with Richie Diaz catching. Bill Whitson started for the Legion, relieved by Ed Young, who had been catching. Then Young went back behind the plate when he was relieved by Jim Dull. Dull hit his eighth home run of the season, and it’s only three-fourths over.
