Pastore sloughed Rotary 13-1 behind Eugene Cole’s one-hitter. The loss dropped Rotary into a first-place tie with JCC.
Eight first-inning runs for Pastore settled the issue at the outset. Emile Hensle banged out three hits to lead the Pastore attack, while Cole, Ron Haugh and Harold Krollfeifer contributed two apiece. The victory was Cole’s fifth of the season and second one-hitter. He also had delivered a pair of no-hit efforts.
Joey Cuseva had Rotary’s only hit, a single in the third.
