A last-place Kiwanis side scored 11 runs in the last three innings to hand Pastore’s their third straight defeat on Thursday. The winners got but three hits off Ron Haugh, but 11 walks and eight Pastore errors more than offset the losers’ eight-run attack, paced by Ron Haugh’s three home runs.
Pastore led 2-0 after three, 4-2 at the end of four and 8-7 after five, but sloppy fielding enabled Kiwanis to tally four last-inning runs which iced the game.
Billy Muench’s triple and singles by Jeep Porter and Billy Tantum constituted the Kiwanis attack. Eugene Cole, in addition to Haugh, homered for the losers.
