On Friday, the Junior Chamber rallied with three runs in the top of the six and final frame to take temporary possession of first place, beating the cellar-dwelling Kiwanis nine by 4-2.

The Chamber took advantage of Kiwanis misplays to win the game, putting together their three run game-winning rally without a single hit. A hit batsman, two errors, and a pair of infield plays were enough to give them the game.

Kiwanis had led off the scoring in the third when Rye Alyea singled home Bill Tantum, who had walked and stolen second.

The Jaycees tied the contest in the fourth on Butcher’s single and an outfield error.

Once again the Kiwanis took the lead with a single run in the fifth. Tantum’s single was followed by three successive bases on balls, with Billy Muench getting the RBI.

Rich Butcher pitched two hit ball for the winners.
