On Tuesday, Eugene Cole missed his third no-hitter by the narrowest margin possible when Buddy Miller collected a single in the fifth inning, the first hit off Cole in 10 innings. Two first-inning runs were all that Pastore needed, but, abetted considerably by Butcher’s wildness, they went on to tally six more.
