Four unearned runs enabled the Elks to post a 4-1 victory on Monday to cinch the 1952 American Little League pennant.

Five Legion errors nullified a sharp three-hit pitching effort by Bob Dziadosz and enabled the front-running Elks to rack up a 4-1 flag-clinching victory at Rutherford Field on Monday.

Three first-inning runs were all that the winners required to take the win behind Johnny Vanderveer, who also tossed a three-hitter. The Elks errorless play afield made the difference in the game.

A trio of errors sandwiched around singles by Marty Lefkowitz and Joe Luoango scored three in the first for the Elks. The Legion got one back in the second when Dziadosz singled, went to second on a pass, stole third and slid under the tag at home on a play off an infield bounder.

The Elks added their final run in the fifth on a three-base error and an infield play.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Vanderveer, who is undefeated within the
