On Friday, darkness helped the Lions to stand off a last-frame Pasquin surge to remain the only unbeaten team in either loop.

The Lions lucked out their win in a slugfest when Pasquin, down 12-4 at the end of four innings, roared back to knot it up in the top of the sixth only to have the score revert to its fifth-inning status when the game, which started late, had to be called because of darkness.

Lambi led the Lion attack with a pair of singles and a double, but Pasquin’s Lecoque with three one-base hits and a triple and Rich Fitzgerald, with a homer and a triple, were the batting stars of the game.

Wildness and loose infield play cost both teams dearly.
